The Cemanahuac Educational Community in Cuernavaca, Mexico offers strong academic programs of study of the Spanish language, Latin American studies, and extensive field study excursions to sites of archaeological and historical interest in Mexico.

Those who study the Spanish language and Latin American studies at Cemanahuac Educational Community represent all ages and professions. What all these individuals have in common is a sincere desire to learn to speak Spanish with a level of proficiency, an intellectual curiosity about the history and culture of Mexico, and a strong motivation to experience this culture on a first-hand basis.

Speaking Spanish is the Key to Mastering It!

At ENCUENTROS, you’ll learn the language in meaningful ways. You’ll use what you learn in real-life situations in and around Cuernavaca. You’ll discover Mexico, its people, and its culture from firsthand experience.

How long you stay with us is up to you. You can study from one week to several months. Whether you need the language for professional or other reasons, let us know. We’ll design each lesson to help you communicate in Spanish for work or play. Our team of lively, creative instructors is here to help you!

Additionally, we will assist you with living arrangements. While we recommend a “homestay” experience (because it gives you the opportunity to practice the Spanish you have learned in classes and provides valuable insights into Mexican lifestyles), we can also assist you in finding an apartment or hotel.

Each student’s language course and housing accommodations are prepared on an individualized basis. We make every effort to fit the school to the student, rather than vice-versa. Classes are small -- four students maximum. We believe that this personalized attention is critical and seems to be the deciding factor that makes us different.

Cuernavaca Language School (CLS)

The CLS, founded in 1960, offers you total immersion programs in Cuernavaca, the Eternal Springtime City. Learn or improve your Spanish in a surprisingly short period of time. The CLS is one of Mexico’s oldest and most respected language institutes. Our time-tested program takes an eclectic approach which combines both traditional and current language teaching principles which facilitate rapid improvement in Spanish language regardless of the student’s current ability. It successfully develops the four language skills, grammatical reflection and the knowledge and comprehension of the Mexican culture. The language class size never exceeds five students and may be smaller. Every member of our instructional staff is a native Spanish speaker who has received rigorous training in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language from certified professionals.
